WEST MAUI
FRONT STREET (Lahaina)
No Maui shopping trip would be complete without a stop at historic and scenic Front Street. Now lined with boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and ice cream parlors, this area is steeped in stories of the past. Between the Old Lahaina Courthouse, Brick Palace of Kamehameha I, a nearly 150-year-old landmark Banyan Tree and more, a shopping trip on Front Street can be a walk back in time. Now, we know we lured you to this post with the promise of shopping – we’ll get to shortly. But this is an important side note. Before or after your West Maui shopping excursion, we highly recommend taking a guided or self-guided Lahaina tour so you don’t miss the richness this area offers.
Shopping
Alright, onto the shops! On Front Street, you’ll find everything from your favorite brand-named surf shops to local boutiques like Maui Pineapple Store. There are also tons of places to pick up Maui souvenirs – from keychains to tee shirts to Christmas ornaments, you’ll find something for everyone on your list. While you’re out on the town, don’t forget to appreciate the view and keep your eyes open for whales during whale season (roughly Dec. till May).

OUTLETS OF MAUI (Lahaina)
Looking for deals on designer goods mixed with some ocean views? Look no further than the Outlets of Maui, located right off of Front Street in Lahaina. From well-known names like Tommy Bahama and Coach to local faves like Hilo Hattie Outlet, Maui Sunglass Maui Jim and Maui Divers Jewelry, Outlets of Maui features some great shopping options at great prices. It even includes the popular Warren & Annabelle’s Magic Show, has its own restaurants and offers weekly ukulele lessons through Maui Music Mission!
WHALERS VILLAGE (Ka’anapali)
Let’s head a little further down the road to Ka’anapali. Nestled among some of Maui’s finest resorts and adjacent to world famous Ka’anapali Beach, Whalers Village offers a premier shopping experience. This outdoor Maui mall features luxe designers like Louis Vuitton, lifestyle names like Lilly Pulitzer, Lululemon and Olukai & local brands like one of our personal favorites, home retailer, Soha Living. Whalers Village also is home to destination restaurants like Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman and Leilani’s on the Beach. Just need a snack? We strongly suggest trying Maui Cookie Lab for some of the best cookies you’ve ever had!

SOUTH MAUI
THE SHOPS AT WAILEA (Wailea)
Staying in South Maui? There are plenty of places to shop, like The Shops at Wailea. Conveniently located near some of the island’s most luxurious resorts, this recently renovated retail destination offers more than 70 shops. The directory includes some of the world’s most sought-after, high fashion designers like Prada and Louis Vuitton, to local stores like Mahina, Mele Ukulele and Keliki Hawaii. A fun and meaningful bonus? The Shops at Wailea hosts weekly cultural events like lei po’o making, coconut frond weaving, papa hula and more. Make sure to check the schedule for up-to-the-minute class offerings. Lastly, The Shops at Wailea is also a culinary destination. For a mid-shopping fuel up, we recommend The Pint & Cork.
WAILEA VILLAGE (Wailea)
Located on the Wailea hillside, just up the street from The Shops at Wailea, sits Wailea Village. This small, but mighty shopping area is one of the island’s newest. Swing by Akamai Coffee for your caffeine fix and then check out Hue Home + Design, Droplets (a sweet children’s shop), Paper Garden, Sabado Studios and more. Don’t forget to peek at Wailea Village’s website for upcoming events like their popular Farmer’s Market and Sunset Market.
CENTRAL MAUI
MAIN STREET (Wailuku)
QUEEN KA’AHUMANU CENTER (Kahului)
For our last stop, no Maui shopping guide would be complete without Queen Ka’ahumanu Center in Kahului. It’s the island’s largest shopping center with over 100 stores, including many popular household name retailers like Victoria’s Secret. Home to the only department store on the island, Macy’s, the Center also offers a movie theater and entertainment throughout the year.
